Dr. Cara Schantz
Dr. Cara Schantz is the founder and owner of CNS Dental. A native of Northern Virginia, she was born and raised in McLean. Knowing she wanted to live and work in the Northern VA area, she came back soon after she completed her residency in New York City. After practicing dentistry as an associate for several years in Northern Virginia, she opened her own private practice, CNS Dental, in 2011.
Dr. Schantz is certified in Invisalign, the nearly-invisible braces, and has completed coursework at the Dawson Institute in St. Petersburg, FL. Dr. Schantz has training in conscious sedation and has extensive experience performing this procedure with adults.
As a child, Dr. Schantz loved going to the dentist. Now she looks forward to providing a compassionate and relaxed experience for each patient, so they, too, can enjoy going to the dentist. She hopes all patients leave with a full understanding of the long-term benefits of taking care of their oral health. Not only can cavities and periodontitis (gum disease) cause pain and discomfort in the mouth but oral health can affect the rest of the body and a person’s overall well-being and confidence.
Giving back to the community is a way of life for Dr. Schantz. The CNS-Dental team volunteered for Food & Friends, packing nourishing meals to be delivered to individuals facing life-challenging illnesses in the DC community. Previous volunteer work included Mission of Mercy (MOM) projects that provide dental services to underserved areas in Virginia, and volunteering at dental clinic in Northern VA for many years. In addition, Dr. Schantz has had the opportunity to serve abroad to Jamaica, Honduras, and Belize. Offering her dental services to communities that do not have access to basic dental healthcare has been an eye-opening experience.
A native of Northern Virginia, Dr. Schantz is proud to live and serve the Arlington and the greater DC community. Married with a young child and two dogs, she loves traveling, exploring D.C., volunteering, and going to baseball games.

Dr. Rami N. Ghorab
Dr. Rami N. Ghorab was born and raised in Syria where he developed a passion for dentistry. He left home at early age to start his long dental journey; he moved to Egypt to earn his first dental degree, then moved to the U.S and received his second Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
After dental school, Dr. Ghorab joined a general practice residency program at Montefiore Hospital in New York. Dr. Ghorab is highly trained in trauma management, complex extractions and certified in Invisalign. He is also qualified for IV sedation certification. Even after complex procedures, patients often say “That was not as bad as I expected!” This tells Dr. Ghorab and his team that they are doing their job right by providing experienced compassionate care.
Giving back to the community is also important to Dr. Ghorab; he has participated in many volunteer projects over the years. In addition to volunteering abroad in Jamaica, he has volunteered to those in need of quality dental services through Mission of Mercy (MOM) here in Virginia and through the Give Kids A Smile® program, which offers free oral health services to children across the U.S.
During his free time, Dr. Ghorab enjoys swimming, traveling and going out with friends and family.
