Dental Implants in Clarendon
The most noticeable downside to missing teeth is that it subtracts from your brilliant smile. With some of your teeth missing, you might feel self-conscious about the visible gaps others can see. It can be very hard to put your best foot forward everyday if you’re worried about how you look when you smile or speak.
Missing teeth can lead to serious dental problems, too. Depending on how many teeth are missing and the location of the missing teeth, your bite may become uneven, which can be uncomfortable and harm your neighboring teeth. Gaps in your teeth can also lead to bone loss in your jaw and allow room for neighboring teeth to shift into place.
If you have missing teeth, you can have dental implants installed to not only restore your smile, but to maintain good dental health. A dental implant is an artificial tooth that is anchored to your jaw for seamless integration with your other teeth. Implants are decided to look and feel just like your natural teeth and will allow you to smile, talk, and eat with confidence.
At CNS Dental, we offer a variety of dental implants such as crowns, bridges, and dentures. All of our implants are made from the sturdiest materials to ensure that your implants will look great and last a long time. Dr. Scantz and her team are well-experienced, and will install your implants with accuracy, precision, and care.
How Are Dental Implants Put In?
Dental implants are secured to your jaw to ensure they stay steady. However, there are two main types of implants that determine how they are put in. Endosteal implants contain a screw and crown that is drilled down into your jaw bone. Subperiosteal implants, on the other hand, are placed on the jaw bone instead of in it, with the use of two metal posts to hold the prosthetic tooth in place.
Your dentist will most likely put in your dental implants in a few stages. First, your jawbone will be prepared for the surgery, which may require a small recovery period before the rest of the implant process can continue. Next, the metal post or screw is drilled into your jawbone and once it’s secure, the top of the post or the abutment is screwed in. Finally, the crown, the artificial tooth, is placed on top for a natural and beautiful look.
CNS Dental’s expert dentists will install your dental implants accurately the first time, reducing your discomfort and helping you earn back a beautiful smile as soon as possible. Our dentists are dedicated to helping you love your smile.
