Dr. Cara Schantz

Dr. Cara Schantz is a native of Northern Virginia; born and raised in McLean. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and then went on to complete her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After dental school, Dr. Schantz chose to do a one-year residency in general dentistry in New York City.
Dr. Schantz is certified in Invisalign, the nearly-invisible braces, and has completed coursework at the Dawson Institute in St. Petersburg, FL. Dr. Schantz has also been trained in conscious sedation and has extensive experience performing this procedure with adults as well as children.
Dr. Schantz has practiced dentistry for several years in Northern Virginia and in 2011, opened her own private practice. Both in her own practice and as an associate at previous dental practices, Dr. Schantz has focused on providing quality, innovative dental procedures while educating her patients to the important connection between oral health and overall physical well-being.
She has participated in numerous Mission of Mercy projects that provide dental services to underserved areas in Virginia, in addition to volunteering abroad in Jamaica, Honduras and Belize. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at a local nursing home with her dog Jacob, traveling, and exploring D.C.
